strawberry fieldsone of the highlights of my visit to central park, because i'm a beatles/lennon fan, and imagine is one of my favourite songs. i took the first photo standing on a bench, and i love how the light falls on the word, in spite of the many trees surrounding the area. which, for me, truly illuminates the meaning of the word and its infinite possibilities.

walking the brooklyn bridgei woke up at 7am on my second day in manhattan, took the subway to brooklyn, and walked on the brooklyn bridge back, just so i could soak in the gorgeous view of the manhattan skyline.

the windy city.what's up buttercups...i'm in chicago now staying at my cuz's place. i'll be here till wednesday where i fly to nyc and start my crazy 8 day tour of the east coast and canada, followed by about 2 more weeks of hanging around nyc, philadelphia and boston before going back to seattle. it's gonna be one hectic and hopefully awesome summer.
i'm quite enjoying chicago - this is the first relaxing holiday i've taken over here where i'm not rushing around the various attractions cuz there ain't that many. well its basically alot of skyscrapers, a coupla musuems and hella lotsa good food and bars although some can be quite chi chi. we did some shopping, walked down michigan ave and stuffed ourselves with good food.

portland.oops. majorly late but no impetus to blog of late. no impetus even to watch season 2 of prison break. since when did i possess self-restraint especially when there's plenty of suspense left over from the first season, and of course the devastatingly gorgeous wentworth's intense gaze rivalled only (on television) by grey's mcdreamy. but i digress.

taken at washington park. it was a beautiful sight...downtown and in the distance there was mount hood. i loved washington park...but i was freezing cold the whole time so it wasn't very pleasant though the view was awesome. plus we walked two miles to get to the japanese garden and it turned out to be kinda blah. the park's a great running/hiking/biking trail i would absolutely love when the weather's warmer.

keeping afloat.

back from portland and saddled with readings. feeling a tad weary, but all i wanna do right now is to immerse myself with work and block out everything else. i'm happier that way. besides, i really love the academic environment here even though i am studying harder than i do back in singapore. portland was quaint and charming, kinda small, not much of a vibrant nightlife, a little sleepy...but the new people i met made the trip a blast (that, and the tax free shopping). the pictures above were taken in downtown. more to come in a bit.
